The Third International Summit on Human Genome Editing takes place at the Francis Crick Institute in London this week. The three-day summit is organised by the Royal Society, the UK Academy of Medical Sciences, the US National Academies of Sciences and Medicine and the World Academy of Sciences.
it is expected that access to cutting edge gene therapies could be expanded at the summit, and scientists and policymakers in attendance will also look at the ethical concerns around modifying DNA.
